Ellex Appoints Tony Mitchell as CFO

Adelaide, Australia, 3 March 2008 – Ellex Medical Lasers Limited (ASX:ELX), a global leader in the design and manufacture of ophthalmic laser and ultrasound systems, announced today the appointment of Tony Mitchell as CFO and Company Secretary.

Mr. Mitchell brings more than twenty years of experience in senior financial and operational management to Ellex. Most recently he held the positions of CFO and Company Secretary for five years with GroPep Limited, an Adelaide based, ASX listed, biotechnology company. Prior to this, he held various senior roles within Faulding and Mayne Pharma, including VP Finance of the pharmaceutical division.

Kevin McGuinness, who joined Ellex as CFO in 2002 and was appointed COO in April 2006, will focus on COO responsibilities. Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Peter Falzon, CEO, said “We are pleased to have Tony joining Ellex. He brings considerable senior financial management experience and as a member of our Executive Management Team, will play a key role as we develop and implement our growth strategies.” Mr. Mitchell will joins Ellex from today.
